Back in the 1980s, the lava flow from the southeast rift of Kilauea Volcano on the island of Hawaii poured over the magnificent Queen's Bath, destroying it entirely.  Now, all you see is barren lava - except for one unusual area that stands out in the middle of the grey-black lava fields. Directly uphill from where the Queen's Bath used to be is a grove of tall palm trees and an arrangement of rocks that the Hawaiians call a Heiau (HAY'-E-OW). One cannot help but notice it because there is no way it should be there. The lava flow is over a mile wide and nothing survived except for the Heiau.

The Hawaiians tell stories about how the Kahunas intervened with Madame Pele, the Goddess of the Volcano, and she spared this sacred place where so many prayers had been infused into the rocks in the past. Like the parting of the Red Sea, the river of approaching lava split in two just a few yards above the Heiau and came back together when it had passed, missing the edges by only a few inches in places. This sacred Heiau reminds me of what we need to do nowadays while the messages from the mainstream media go through their changes. As the flow of information runs its chaotic course, most people are believing in it and are being carried away or are forced to relocate or rebuild their lives in its wake. What with unstable money supplies, property values plummeting, wars, bailouts, and sicknesses, it appears that there is no place to go to keep from being run over.

In truth, however, there are numerous places of refuge where we can retain our peace of mind in these insane times. Indeed, the consensus reality - the one that is constantly being pumped into us by the media - is but one reality out of an infinite number of realities we can choose to believe in. We can keep our attention on it, or we can put our attention on another more comfortable, fulfilling reality. Whatever we place our attention on is what we will create.

Excerpts from a newsletter of  Intenders of the Highest Good

 Tony Burroughs, author of  The Intenders of the Highest Good, The Code and other works (see www.intenders.com), and an old and dear friend,  reminded me, through this newsletter, of a great Truth.   We are Heiau’s.  We are places of great sacredness.  Now is not the time to become immobilized by fear – it is a time to stay ‘prayed up.’ We can stand in the middle of the river and allow the chaos to flow around us, and we do NOT have to be affected by it. 

 It is also not a time to stand in our sacred place and look out and say “oh those poor people.” Our standing for the Truth, also lifts others up.  We must know the Truth for all.  We must be like the Kahunas who prayed/intended and stood strong in their Knowing.

 There are some who will struggle in the rushing river and yell “Don’t be such a Pollyanna – face the facts!”    I say – establish your own facts and YES - be like Pollyanna, who changed the consciousness of an entire town with her positive outlook.   We are that Power Full!

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

 There is one perfect Intelligence, and It permeates the universe.  It is everywhere and in everything.  It is the air we are breathing.  It is the beating of our hearts.  It is what we see, taste, touch and smell.  It is even more than this.  It is – and It is all there is.

 Knowing this, I now declare we are free from fear.  We awaken from the mesmeriszation of the media.  We are co-creating our world, attracting to us only that which is for the highest and best for us all. 

Our Reality is not lack, disease or limitation of any kind.  It is wholeness and holiness always, and in all ways.  We stand firm in the Truth that we are creating a world that works for everyone, and it is good, very good.

 I release these words, welcoming the release of fear they bring.  Welcoming and grateful for being able to speak the Truth and know that It is so.  And so it is. 

 I know you’ve read and heard the same things. We’re being bombarded by the media, hearing stories of financial disasters from friends, etc..  NO! NO! NO! – this is not our Truth!!  I’ve been using the Power of No a lot lately.  My favourite phrase (not always said out loud) is “Not in my Reality.” 

 Many of these are phrases are also from spiritual teachers – usually followed by claims that buying their CD’s, books, courses etc. are the way out of the negative conditions.  Stop listening!!  Don’t we realize that by claiming the conditions or agreeing with them, we are perpetuating them!?!

 There’s a story about Napoleon Hill, who was an advisor to President Roosevelt during the depression. The President once asked him “What should we do about this crisis?”  Mr. Hill responded “Stop talking about it.”  Mr. Hill helped create a Master Mind alliance in Congress.  Pres. Roosevelt asked the media to let go of the stories of doom and gloom and they did.  Congress, churches, schools and groups got behind the President, and began to talk about the good in the world, especially the United States.  Soon the crisis was averted.   

 Ernest Holmes’ teachings advise us to turn away from effects, declare what it is we want, and move forward acting as if it is already so.   Yes, it can be hard to turn away from what seem to be dwindling resources, especially when many are dwelling in fear, but the Truth is, we live in an abundant universe.  Another favourite saying of mine:  “There is always more where that came from.”

 I believe this absolutely.  It is time for those of us who believe to live our beliefs. The Truth is we are living in exciting times!  The old paradigms are falling away, and we are awakening to our Spiritual Magnificence!   We set this in motion, and we will benefit from it.  Stop looking at the effects as if they were disasters!!    

 Right now I am looking out my window at a sun dappled garden.  Where there is shade there is still snow, however, the trees and plants have tiny leaf buds on them.  The world’s financial situation could be like that snow, sticking to the shadowed places  – and we are the plants growing in the Light regardless of appearances.  I celebrate our growth! I celebrate our prosperity!

 Lifting my consciousness above and beyond the human condition, I declare I dwell in a consciousness of world that works for all.  In this world is peace, love, harmony and abundance.  In this world we are aware of ourselves as spiritual beings playing in the realms of Infinite Potentiality.

 Creative Principle is at work in every facet of our experience. I am motivated, empowered and inspired by Divine Intelligence within me.  Nothing outside of me can prevent my growth.  Nothing outside of me can prevent my conscious awareness of the Truth of my being. Today I know, without any doubts, that Life is moving through each of us creating more good all the time.  I love allowing It to do so.

I rejoice in the fulfillment of our good. I celebrate our awakening to our spiritual magnificence.  I honour the Presence that makes all this possible.  I release these words into the Law of Mind knowing they are already so.   And so it is.

A friend who’s on Facebook wrote:  “Every time I see the friend request I think of Mr. Rogers and his song: “Won't you be, won't you be, won't you be my neighbor?”

 I really enjoy Facebook.  It’s like a virtual front porch!  I can sit on my swing, sipping my beverage of the moment, and observe the neighborhood, calling greetings and sharing stories with my neighbors.  With FaceBook, I am getting to know many people at a deeper level.  I’ve received so much inspiration.  I have reconnected with many friends. 

 While I was writing this, I remembered a section of Marlo Morgan’s book “Mutant Messenger.”  Marlo was on a walkabout in Australia with some aboriginal people who considered themselves to be “Real People” … and they walked in silence for hours.  At the stopping points she would hear bits and pieces of conversations that seemed to have been carried on during the walk.  Marlo asked one of the women how this could be, and the woman told her they communicated mentally, that they didn’t always have to talk out loud. Marlo was surprised and wondered why it was so easy for them to communicate this way, and considered difficult, even a little airy-fairy, for the western cultures.  The woman told her it was because nothing was blocked by secrets.  No one lied. 

 Facebook is making it difficult to have secrets.  We’re learning to be more transparent and more accepting. We’re also learning to be more conscious of what we are saying as not only will everyone be able to read it, but we might get called on our stuff!!  And that’s what good neighbours do, isn’t it - support us while we’re going through our stuff, yet gently keep us in line? 

 FaceBook is a microcosm of the macrocosm of the collective consciousness.  The world is getting smaller.  Neighborhoods are getting bigger.  There are neighborhoods standing alone, and ones that overlap.  There are ones I want to live in and ones I prefer not to.  And it’s all good – because it’s all God.        “Won't you be, won't you be, won't you be my neighbor?”

 Recognizing there is no place where God is not, I delight in living in God’s neighborhood.  This Neighborhood is an infinite field of creative potentiality.  I am empowered and enlivened by this neighborhood.  I see my Self everywhere I turn.

 I am grateful humanity is awakening to its spiritual magnificence.  I am grateful to be alive in these exciting times.  I am grateful to be a part of the architectural corps that is creating this new world. I choose now to be consciously aware of always telling the Truth, and living an authentic life.  I choose to love my neighbours as I love my Self. 

 I release these words knowing they are so, and so It is.

 I love my life!   I am becoming more and more aware that everything I do is Sacred, no matter what I am doing. This past week, I dog-sat two darling puppies.  One was a Yorkie and one was a Coton de Tulear.

 One evening the Coton came to me and wanted to be picked up.  Of course I complied, and as I sat holding her, I marveled at her soft, white fur.  I breathed in and closed my eyes and suddenly was 8 years old, sitting in the washroom at Ramona Convent, hugging my only toy to my chest – a white stuffed dog.  This dog was the most important thing in my life at that moment. It was the only familiar thing.  I had been sent away to live at a girls school and was in a place of strangers.  I didn’t know anyone.  I wasn’t Catholic.  I was an outsider.    

 Memory is amazing.  As I relived a moment in time that happened 52 years ago, it was like I was right there.  I could feel the cold white tile floor under me, and see the bathtub cubicles.  I could hear the whisper of the nun’s habit on the polished wooden floors as she came down the hallway to check on me.  I could hear myself crying, and I could feel the tightness of my muscles.  I could feel my fear. 

 Dr. Holmes writes “…. Memory is an unconscious operation of what was once a conscious thought.”

Somewhere inside the vastness of me, I am still sitting in the washroom feeling alone and afraid.  I wonder where this thought is active in my life now?   

 Dr. Holmes also writes that by changing our thoughts we can re-mold our affairs; and that by right thinking we can bring new conditions into our lives.    

 I can imagine that nun saying “Everything will be all right.  You’ll do fine.”   Did I believe her?  Could I believe her?  I don’t remember.  However, I knew I could do something about it now.  Going into meditation, I took that lonely little girl and her precious stuffed dog, and put them on my lap.  I hugged her and infused her with all the love I could.  I acknowledged all she had been through already in her short life, and shared some of the wonderful things she would experience as she grew up.  I told her the nun was right.  We turned out wonderfully.   

 All of us have memories of experiences that are still affecting us today.  We can allow those memories to surface, gently and easily, and love ourselves through them.  We can acknowledge our fears, change our thinking and trust the Divine.  Doing this, we will revitalize our present time experiences and move forward with grace.    

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

 I recognize there is One Life – the Divine Life that is everywhere present, all knowing, all powerful.  It is Creator and created. It is within us right here and now.

Knowing this I declare these words for us in the first person:

I am ready and willing to open my heart and live more authentically.  All that is unnecessary to my highest good and greatest joy is now released.  I am open to experience my Self and all the wonders of Life.  I am filled with Divine Light and Love and there is nothing to stop me from being all I can be.

I am healthy in mind, body and emotions.  My health radiates throughout my financial life, my work life and my relationships.  I know this for myself and for everyone I meet.   We have all turned out wonderfully as delightful expressions of this One Life.  

Gratefully I release these words into the Law of Mind knowing they are already so and the Truth sets us free.  And so It is.
